What You Should Know About Safe Glass Installation
Auto glass installers must consider outside temperatures when determining safe drive-away times after repairing or replacing auto glass. One-part glues require moisture to cure. Lower temperatures and humidity require more time for the urethane to reach strengths capable of passing applicable standards.
A two-part glue should be used when temperatures drop below 40-degrees Fahrenheit. Vehicles equipped with air bags require additional time to cure to allow the glue to reach strength of at least 150 psi.

Your Auto & Truck Headquarters' auto glass installer is certified by the National Glass Association and can tell you how much time is required before you can safely drive away. Some automobile manufacturers require higher strengths prior to releasing the vehicle. If you must drive your vehicle within a certain time after repairing or replacing auto glass, let your installer know.
